3rd coaching session + Gardens International school

hey all~ from now on i'm not gonna blog about personal stuff.. i'm going to try be a pro for once :D because this blog is all about our work as an intern under cybercare!

alright, back to topic.

we had our 3rd coaching today!! it was fun fun fun :D

as usual we drive all the way down to sentul, 2 cars, Yiang Ping and Elaine's car. started our journey early morning, 7am today, all punctual which is a BIG improvement ;)

We had our breakfast at Bidor, some restaurant i forgot the name. we had our breakfast break for an hour then continued our journey. Elaine somehow overshooted at the highway but somehow manage to find a BETTER , shorter way to Menara Sentul, as what we've learned everything happened for a reason ;)

We arrived at Cafe One around 10.30am. waited for Ms Sharmini to arrive. Mr Cheong didn't manage to join us today which is a pity :(

Our coaching session started by Ms Sharmini asking about our entire weekend, what we've did so far. we told her and got some feedback and guidance from her.

we learn that if a person complimenting us we should just take it gracefully. Besides that, we did also seek some advice on how to improve in handling the children from the homes. (Let me update you here in case you have no clue on whats going on now - We started our first home visitation session 2 days ago, which is last Tuesday, 15/6/2010 i didn't manage to blog about it coz i was too exhausted after i came back from the home visiting)

As i was saying, Ms Sharmini advised us that we can't trully CHANGE a person unless the person them self wanted to change. We can't tell people how they should feel, or do. We must have no judgement when we're coaching. We can't change people but we can create an environment to make people believe that they can change. Our role is just to awaken or create realization to themselves.

Besides that she also reminded us that "Perception is projection"
where the "thing i see in myself, i see in others as well" Also we must not take feedback too heavily. She also tell us that we must feel confident about ourselves. because our feeling of inadequacy will project to the children. Ms Sharmini also taught us about focusing and motivation gap, and lastly she told is that our beliefs are convenient but it is not a universal truth. :D

well that's what i've learned today :D i got my answer perfectly~ i was having problem with "feedback" yesterday and today i got it ;) awesome.. totally change my perspective heheh..
oh! a feedback = means the current information of my current state
got to jot that down before i forgot ;)

oh well.. after the coaching we had our lunch and we followed Ms Sharmini's community kids to Garden International School for english tuition classes. :D We went there to observe basically on how the teachers there teach, the way they talked to the children and how they communicate with the children. Since my post are getting longer and more boring so i'll let the pictures to do the talking ;D

Ms Sharmini's community kids.

we join the children in the classroom. we sat at the end of the classroom observing
before that all of us were in a classroom where everyone had face painting!
it was fun :D hehe..
its a pity i didn't take any shots on it. =/
they break the children into pairs. with one teachers in each team
they're learning on commanding speech?
im not sure what is the exact name for it
but yeah they basicly are telling each other on what to do
eg : touch your NOSE! TURN AROUND!
something like that ;D
learning while playing~ how nice!
after that we did swirly snake~ this is mine and yiang ping's product lol..

Elaine was helping around too. :D

Mr big boy~
the pictures of the kids learning :D
after they finished their own swirly snake the must tell the teachers
in a construct sentences on what they've did
that's the main purpose though.. to encourages them to speak up and learn ;)

i only have these pictures coz our intern team got separated though..
after that, class ended and we headed back to Cafe one.
i had fun with the kids.

oh i had muffins that the kids made ;D
it wasn't the best one i've tasted
but it'll be the most memorable muffin that i've tasted!

my team was the noisiest or probably the most actives one were in it
truthfully it was tiring where i have to keep remind them
to not climb up and down in the bus and not run around
act silly while they're in the school.
they don't really listen!
luckily i'm used to this kind of chaotic situation at home ;)
fuh.. now im back home in my room.
im all really tired.. but im too excited to sleep hehehe..

i still think they're the best haha..
coz we had FUN!

till then! :D cheerios~

PS : i wil i wil blog about our 2nd coaching session coz i have LOTS of pictures about it! same goes to our 1st visitation to vision home last tuesday! MORE TO COME! ;) but im really tired now.. till then ;) bye
